CRDA: Movies Under The Stars

Karen Martin

Courtesy of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA), top Box Office hits will be presented for free this summer two nights per week from July 7 through August 29 at two locations: Bartram Avenue and Gardner’s Basin.

Movies Under The Stars is back by popular demand, and adds another dimension to the entertainment presented in Atlantic City this summer, courtesy of the CRDA. The CRDA free Boardwalk Summer Entertainment program takes place at Kennedy Plaza on the Atlantic City Boardwalk seven nights a week and features music from all genres.

Movies Under The Stars features some of today’s top movies, including Black Panther, The Lego Movie 2 (The Second Part), Dumbo, Captain Marvel, Mary Poppins Returns, Incredibles 2 and Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse. All movies appear first on Sundays at Gardner’s Basin, and then featured again on Thursdays at Bartram Avenue & the Boardwalk (located between Columbia and Kingston avenues). To kick off the free summer movies this season, Jaws will be presented Sunday, July 7 at Gardner’s Basin. All movies begin promptly at dusk.

Bring a chair or blanket, a soft drink and popcorn and enjoy a free evening out. All movies are rated for family viewing. If inclement weather, the movie will be shown the following evening.

About the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority:
The only agency of its kind nationwide, the CRDA has used Atlantic City casino reinvestments as a catalyst for meaningful, positive improvement in the lives of New Jersey residents since 1984.  Under the 2011 Tourism District Act, the Authority's mission evolved from statewide projects to becoming the state's key economic development agency for Atlantic City.  CRDA's expanded responsibilities now include land use regulation, tourism marketing and clean and safe initiatives. The CRDA also oversees Historic Boardwalk Hall (the leading entertainment venue of its size in the country) and the Atlantic City Convention Center.  In total, CRDA has invested nearly $2 billion in more than 400 projects statewide, of which $1.8 billion has been invested in Atlantic City, spurring business investments and expansions, and creating permanent jobs in the process.
