CRDA: Land Use Regulations Public Hearings Being Held

Karen Martin

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is holding two public hearings regarding its proposed Land Use Rules and Regulations for the Atlantic City Tourism District.

The proposed rules aim to facilitate development within the Tourism District by encouraging complementary land uses and stimulating investment in non-gaming and related projects.  The Authority worked with licensed land use professionals and the City to prepare the proposed rules.

Interested persons may obtain a copy of the proposed Land Use Regulations from the CRDA website at http://www.njcrda.com/proposed-rulesrule-adoption/. The proposed rules may also be inspected during normal office hours at the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority’s offices located at 15 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ 08401.

The public hearings are scheduled as follows at the Atlantic City Convention Center, Room 404:

Wednesday, October 4, 2017 - 10:00 a.m.
Tuesday, October 10, 2017 - 6:00 p.m.

About the CRDA:
The only agency of its kind nationwide, the CRDA has used Atlantic City casino reinvestments as a catalyst for meaningful, positive improvement in the lives of New Jersey residents since 1984.  Under the 2011 Tourism District Act, the Authority's mission evolved from statewide projects to becoming the state's key economic development agency for Atlantic City.  CRDA's expanded responsibilities now include land use regulation, tourism marketing and clean and safe initiatives. The CRDA also oversees Historic Boardwalk Hall (the leading entertainment venue of its size in the country) and the Atlantic City Convention Center.  In total, CRDA has invested nearly $2 billion in more than 400 projects statewide, of which $1.8 billion has been invested in Atlantic City, spurring business investments and expansions, and creating permanent jobs in the process.
