The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) has announced that Jon Henderson will receive the 2018 Spirit of Hospitality Award during this year’s Atlantic City Host Awards on May 2.
Presented each year, the Spirit of Hospitality Award is bestowed upon an outstanding individual who has made a long-lasting and significant contribution to the Atlantic City region’s hospitality and tourism industry. The award embodies the recipient’s spirit and dedication to serving the millions of visitors who come to Atlantic City.
For the last 20 years, Jon Henderson has made Atlantic City his home and place of work. Jon started out at Resorts Casino, as a casino marketing representative and carved a niche out for himself, by working in all facets of the gaming/hospitality/event-planning industry. Now self-employed, this consummate creator has become an independent entrepreneur, starting his own company - Good Time Tricycle Productions, and setting his sights on developing unique life style events and weekends such as The Atlantic City Tattoo Expo (one of the country’s longest running tattoo events), The AC Beer and Music Festival (one the largest beer events in the country), as well as several other regional projects.
Jon spends his time creating these experiences and consulting on others that continue to drive thousands of visitors to the Atlantic City region. Jon Henderson and the Good Time Tricycle team are responsible for moving over 125,000 visitors through Atlantic City annually creating an estimated 18 million dollars in economic impact for the region, as well as hosting lifestyle events that keep Atlantic City a relevant entertainment destination. In addition to the aforementioned events, these projects include The Atlantic City Seafood Festival; The Cider Social; Bizarre AC; and The Beard and Mustache Championship of the Universe, to name a few.
Past recipients of the Spirit of Hospitality Award include Jean Muchanic, Executive Director of the Absecon Lighthouse (2015); and the Honorable Nelson Johnson, author of the book, Boardwalk Empire: The Birth, High Times and Corruption of Atlantic City, and current Superior Court of New Jersey judge (2011).
This year’s Annual Host Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 2 in the Adrian Phillips Theater at Historic Boardwalk Hall, beginning at 5 PM. Tickets are priced at $65 for an individual, and tables of ten are priced at $650.
