~ Over $107,000 in scholarships have been awarded to date ~

The Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association (GACCA) and the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) have created a partnership to award scholarships for education in the hospitality industry and promote the value of that education.

In 2020, the GACCA and Atlantic City Restaurant Week produced by CRDA have teamed up to host one fundraising event “Art-Wine-Dine” on February 12, 2020,
with proceeds going to local college students at the annual Host Awards on May 6, 2020. Art-Wine-Dine, presented by AC Weekly, will also serve as a kick off to Atlantic City Restaurant Week. This new event will highlight the culinary and visual arts, giving attendees a taste of what is trending in the destination.

The scholarships acknowledge and reward academically successful students who have chosen a field of study related to the culinary, hospitality and tourism industry. These awards are specifically designed to acknowledge students that excel in academic life in the field of hospitality, and who have demonstrated the unique ability to reach out to others through personal initiatives.

The scholarships are available to students from Stockton University, Atlantic Cape Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University, majoring in Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary fields and will be awarded in May 6, 2020 at the annual Atlantic City Host Awards.

Applications for these scholarships are now available at www.atlanticcityscholarships.org. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2020.

A volunteer committee of members made up of the Greater Atlantic City Concierge Association and the CRDA will select the award recipients using a criteria selection form that uses a point system for compliance. Members of the selection committee and their family members are ineligible for scholarships. Payment of the scholarships will go directly to the attending colleges for the purpose of tuition and tuition-related expenses for the student recipients.

The Art-Wine-Dine event will take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall’s newly renovated lobby – The Atlantic City Experience - beginning at 5 p.m
.  Complimentary parking for ticket holders will be available at the Boardwalk Hall Parking Garage. The event will feature a silent auction, wines, craft beers and spirits to taste, and entertainment.  Event tickets can be purchased online here.

Prospective donors should contact Doreen Prinzo at 609-449-7156 or
[email protected].

About the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority
The only agency of its kind nationwide, the CRDA has used Atlantic City casino reinvestments as a catalyst for meaningful, positive improvement in the lives of New Jersey residents since 1984.  Under the 2011 Tourism District Act, the Authority's mission evolved from statewide projects to becoming the state's key economic development agency for Atlantic City.  CRDA's expanded responsibilities now include land use regulation, tourism marketing and clean and safe initiatives. The CRDA also oversees Historic Boardwalk Hall (the leading entertainment venue of its size in the country) and the Atlantic City Convention Center.  In total, CRDA has invested nearly $2 billion in more than 400 projects statewide, of which $1.8 billion has been invested in Atlantic City, spurring business investments and expansions, and creating permanent jobs in the process.
