New Jersey's Tall Ship, the authentically restored 1928 Delaware Bay oyster schooner A.J. MEERWALD, returns to Atlantic City, and the public is invited to visit the ship at dockside or come aboard for a sail!
The MEERWALD arrives at historic Gardner's Basin around 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd, and will dock next to "Cruisn 1". Visitors are invited to a free Open House on Monday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. to visit the ship and meet the crew. 2-1/2 hour public sails are scheduled for July 23 through 29. Passengers may sit back and enjoy a relaxing and scenic trip, or learn more about sailing the vessel by helping the crew haul the lines and hoist the sails. Guests are welcome to bring food and beverages aboard.
Two special themed sails are included in the schedule. Passengers can help trawl for marine life and learn about the creatures that live in the local waters on the Marine Critter Sail on Saturday; come in costume and join the crew of buccaneers on the Pirate Sail on Sunday.
July 30-Aug 3 Maritime Camp: Leaves Monday July 30 at 9am - Aug 3 at noon | $750/camper | Sail from AC to Cape May learning sailing and nautical skills, maritime history and marine science. Educational and great fun for ages 13-17.
