Boardwalk Empire Gangster Series

Atlantic City was originally designed as a healthful respite from city life. It quickly became a popular resort destination, providing endless opportunities for entertainment – much like today. But Prohibition-era Atlantic City offered some forms of entertainment that other resorts did not. Back-room gambling, rum running, speakeasies and mob bosses were all part of the colorful Atlantic City history, and are brought to center stage in the Emmy Award-winning HBO series, “Boardwalk Empire,” inspired by the non-fiction book of the same name by Nelson Johnson.
