A Smithville, NJ Christmas: Lighting up Lake Meone
For the young and young at heart, holiday lights can create magical holiday memories. Nowhere is this more evident than in Historic Smithville with The amazing Smithville Christmas Light Show. NJ residents and visitors alike come to experience popular seasonal songs and music synchronized with the lighting of more than 100 twinkling Christmas trees that appear to magically float on Lake Meone.
Bring the family for an afternoon of browsing or holiday shopping – and take advantage of some five dozen specialty shops offering seasonal sales. Grab a bite and then stay for a merry and magical evening.
Smithville, NJ Christmas-themed weekends could also include the following festive family-friendly events: go see the Magical Talking Tree (it’s awake from Noon-5 p.m.), ride the Smithville Christmas Train through the whimsically-decorated Village Greene, listen to a story read by Mrs. Claus in her cottage (1:30-4:30), have Breakfast with Santa (Dec 14 & Dec 21) or enjoy Christmas vignettes presented by Victorian performers (Dec 15).
